New Member Classes

New member classes are scheduled regularly 3-4 times a year. For information on our next new member class, contact our administrative assistant, Carrie Lyman.

The Confirmation Class of 2008

Confirmation is offered each year for our 8th graders to either confirm the baptismal vows their parents made for them when he/she was baptized as an infant or make their own profession of faith including their baptism. We have 12-14 sessions that meet January through March during the Sunday School hour. There are outside class times including a mission day, the reading of a gospel, and going to a Session meeting. The young person is also paired with a Covenant Partner who is a member of the church and meets with the young person on a weekly basis through the Confirmation process.

Children at the Lord's Table Class and a Workshop on Worship and Children are offered in alternate years. Both classes are for parents and children in the 1st - 3rd grades. In the PC (USA) denomination, baptized children may participate in the Lord's Supper with some instruction. The Children at the Lord's Table class provides this instruction and is offered usually on a
Sunday afternoon.

Our church welcomes children in worship at any age and beginning in the first grade, all the time. To assist parents we offer this workshop to help with this transition. The workshop looks at the different parts of the worship service and it gives some hands on experiences for the children.

Vacation Bible School is offered each summer for one -week for children 4-years old through 5th grade. The children spend time focusing on a Bible story, craft, recreation, and music each day. The 4th-5th graders usually are involved in daily mission trips such as the foodbank, nursing home, visiting other churches, and more. VBS meets in the mornings Monday through Friday from 9 am to 12 noon.

Our Human Sexuality course for 6-7 graders and their parents is offered every other year. Our next workshop will be in 2010. We explore the subject of sexuality from a Biblical perspective. There are separate sessions for youth and parents on Friday afternoon/ evening and Saturday morning/afternoon. On Sunday morning the youth and parents meet together.
