| It
is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High,
to proclaim your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night!
Psalm 92:1-2
There
are currently two adult handbell choirs that are regularly integrated
into the Sunday morning worship service. The choirs play a four-octave
set of handbells. Besides playing as a stand alone choir, these groups
combine with the Chancel Choir and other instrumentalists in a variety
of musical styles.
Community Events
The handbell choir has been active in community musical events,
such as the candlelight tour of Fredericksburg. The choir was honored
to perform with the Mary Washington College Orchestra to premiere
a work written to commemorate the events of September 11, 2001.
Rehearsals
Rehearsals for the handbell choirs take place every Thursday from September throughMay
from 5:30 - 7:00 PM in the choir room, which is located under the
sanctuary. Anyone who is interested and has music reading skill
is welcome to join the handbell choir. Talk to Larry or Mary Ann
Casey about playing, or feel free to come join us on Thursday evening!
