Praise the Lord!
Praise God in His sanctuary;
Praise Him in His mighty heavens.
Praise Him for His acts of power;
Praise Him for His surpassing greatness.
Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet,
Praise Him with the harp and lyre,
Praise Him with tambourine and dancing,
Praise Him with the strings and flute,
Praise Him with the clash of cymbals,
Praise Him with resounding cymbals.
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord!
Psalm 150
Using the creative arts to glorify God is an age-old practice that
continues as part of worship at the Fredericksburg Presbyterian church.
Presbyterians consider the use of music, dance, drama, and other creative
language during the worship service an act of prayer. As such, great
care is taken to assure that the creative arts are used in a spiritual,
prayerful and reverent manner - to praise God rather than to merely
entertain.
Music
The
congregation participates in musical praise by the singing of psalms
(hymns) during the worship service.
Music ministers in the church provide additional leadership through
a variety of organized ensembles. Music ministers of all ages are
able to participate in a variety of ensembles whose mission is to
enhance the liturgy of the worship service.

Dance
Interpretation of scripture, prayers and music through sacred dance allows the congregation to experience God in a more visual, direct way.
The Sacred Dance Ensemble of Fredericksburg, supported by the Presbyterian Church, offers an opportunity for those called to praise God through dance to lead worship and bring God's message to all people.
